Sizing & studio fitting
We have sample sizes of ballet shoes available in the studio (2 A P Ellis Road, GL54 2QB). For other items, it’s helpful to see what sizes other students are wearing, and our teachers are always happy to offer guidance.
Whilst some sizes are available in the studio, most items must be ordered through the website once you have established the correct size.
New uniform requirements by year group
| Year 2 |
Ballet: Mulberry leotards and cardigans (no skirt). Tap: Black tap shoes (new and second-hand options available in studio). Modern: Black shorts (must be tight and short; school shorts from Asda etc. are fine). |
| Year 4 | Teal leotard and cardigan. |
| Year 6 |
Lavender leotards: Must be ordered through the school. Please email your size estimate (Lavender runs slightly larger than Teal). Try on in September; £20.00 cash. Character shoes: Must have a cuban heel. Character skirts: Must be the correct fabric (please ask in class). |
| Year 8 |
Royal blue leotards: Must be ordered through the school. Email your size estimate; try on in September; £25.00 cash. Royal blue ballet skirt: Still sourcing (Amazon prices have increased). Check the second-hand Facebook page. |
| Year 11/12 |
Year 11: Burgundy. Year 12: Own choice. |
In-studio items & fitting info
From Year 6 and above, leotards and warm-up tops must be purchased directly from the studio (not available online).
Fitting guidance:
- Leotards & ballet shoes: Try for size at the studio.
- Tap & character shoes: Try from others in the class for size.
- Character skirts: Measure before ordering. Should be just below the knee and no longer than mid-calf. Teachers are happy to assist with sizing.
Socks and tights (cash only)
We use transition (convertible) tights with a hole in the foot for easy barefoot dancing. Tip: Order at least one size too big to prevent ripping.
