What is the show?
Each year we hold our whole-school show. Each class spends time in their weekly lessons preparing a piece to be performed in the show which is held on a stage towards the end of the Spring Term (March). We charge a small fee for dress rehearsal and costume hire (all costumes are supplied by the school). Tickets are available to buy nearer the time of the event.
It is a lovely opportunity for the pupils to come together as a school and see each other’s work. It also gives the parents the opportunity to see what is achieved across the school as well as their child’s age group.
Students perform a piece from each class they attend (if modern and tap are combined in their class they only perform a modern dance in the show).
Costs
We charge a small show fee to cover the costumes, staff, and theatre hire for rehearsals.
Show fees are charged per discipline and not per class.
One discipline (i.e ballet or modern) £20
Two disciplines £25
Three or more disciplines £30
*Pointe Work is a separate discipline
Senior Students
All students from year 6 and above will need tan underwear to wear under their costumes to keep them covered up during costumes changes. Tan body suits/leotards are perfect for this. If they need more support they can wear a tan bra and high legged knickers (not shorts). Bras must have tan fabric straps and not rubber. The shiny straps show too much on stage under the lights.
