It is with a heavy heart that I inform you all that I have made the decision to postpone all shows that were set to take place this Saturday 21st March, due to the current situation with Coronavirus.
Whilst I have changed my mind several times over the last 24 hours, there are many factors that point towards it being too risky to go ahead with:
We had a wonderful day of rehearsals on Sunday 15th March. The students worked hard, my wonderful team of helpers (older students and family) worked hard and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves so they are all set to put the shows on once we feel it’s safe to do so.
I plan to run the shows at the same times, at the same venue, using the tickets you have already purchased, on a Saturday or Sunday, as soon as we are safe to do so.
For the time being, classes will continue as normal. I will be in touch with any further developments regarding those.
We will adapt our classes to ensure students do not come into physical contact with each other (holding hands and dancing with partners etc) and will keep them at a distance from each other as much as possible. However, we understand if you’d rather keep them away from class at the moment.
N.B This Saturday we will run regular classes at Bourton Leisure Centre instead of holding them the following week. This will be the last Saturday of the term (and these will be replacing classes that were due to take place on Saturday 28th March).
We will also be postponing the in-house exams due on Saturday 28th March. The in-house exams scheduled for 25th/26th April will be reviewed nearer the time.
I’d like to thank ALL my parents for respecting my decisions so far, I’m very lucky to have your constant support and encouragement. I am sorry for any disappointment caused by this recent decision and I hope you and the children are able to understand.
What is the show?
It is a lovely opportunity for the pupils to come together as a school and see each other’s work. It also gives the parents the opportunity to see what is achieved across the school as well as their child’s age group.
