Venue: Cidermill Theatre, Chipping Campden GL55 6HX
What is the show?
Each year we hold our whole-school show. We divide the school into junior shows and senior shows. It is a lovely opportunity for the pupils to come together as a school and see each other’s work. It also gives the parents the opportunity to see what is achieved across the school as well as their child’s age group.
Whilst the lessons cover the show work, they also continue to cover the syllabus in progression towards their exams/assessments in the Summer Term. Therefore, if a student is unable to do the show it is still necessary for them to continue their weekly lessons.
Junior show information:
All the show dances are taught within the weekly lessons so the only extra rehearsals are those listed above.
We charge a small show fee to cover the costumes, staff, and theatre hire for rehearsals. These prices are set further down this page.
There are 3 junior shows on the Saturday and each student is in ONE of these shows.
Junior show performances:
SHOW A: 11:00am
SHOW B: 2:00pm
SHOW C: 4:45pm
Senior shows:
The senior shows rehearsals take a little longer depending on the classes they are in. Information on this is given nearer the time.
The senior shows require students to be there all day on the day of the performances. There are two performances for the seniors (both performances are exactly the same show), their show is usually about 90 minutes long including an interval.
All seniors are expected to be in both shows.
We charge a small fee for dress rehearsal and costume hire (all costumes are supplied by the school). Fees are set out below.
Tickets are available to buy nearer the time of the event.
Costs
We charge a small show fee to cover the costumes, staff, and theatre hire for rehearsals.
Show fees are charged per discipline and not per class.
One discipline (i.e ballet or modern) £25
Two disciplines £30
Three or more disciplines £35
*Pointe Work is a separate discipline
Unfortunately we will not be doing any tap in this show.
Senior Students
All students from year 6 and above will need tan underwear to wear under their costumes to keep them covered up during costumes changes. Tan body suits/leotards are perfect for this. If they need more support they can wear a tan bra and high legged knickers (not shorts). Bras must have tan fabric straps and not rubber. The shiny straps show too much on stage under the lights.
